What is Claude Cowork?
Claude Cowork is Claude's agentic mode — available in the Claude desktop, web, and mobile apps — that lets Claude work directly with your files and connected apps to complete multi-step tasks — instead of just answering questions in chat. You point it at a folder or a connector, describe the outcome you want, and Claude does the work.

Cowork runs in the cloud on Pro and Max. Team cloud Cowork is in beta on web and mobile; Enterprise availability requires administrator enablement.
Open Claude Cowork
On desktop for macOS and Windows at claude.com/download, on the web at claude.ai, or in the Claude mobile app.
Hand over your first task
If the Cowork choice appears, select it; in the new Claude experience, describe the task in the message box. Give Claude the goal, context, and constraints, then review its work.
