Claude Duet launches: Anthropic ships its proactive AI agent

Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a proactive AI agent that does work before you ask. Where a chatbot waits for a prompt, Duet watches the accounts you connect, runs multi-step tasks in the background on a cloud machine, and brings you a morning brief of what needs a decision — continuing even while your laptop and phone are off.
It is the clearest next step after Cowork folded into one Claude in September, and it doubles down on the direction this site has tracked from the start: Claude doing real work across your tools, not just chatting.
What Claude Duet does

- • Monitors your connected apps and surfaces what is urgent in a daily brief
- • Asks for approval before sending messages, making payments, or signing anything
- • Reportedly supports 6,000+ connectors and runs on Claude Opus 5.5
Who can get it
